We must state that to this date we have found no documentary evidence that definently ties Peter and Sylvester Ussery to Thomas Ussery, son of Thomas Ussery, Esq. of Montgomery Co., NC. We can surmise this and have placed these families at this point in our family tree. They do not fit into any other family group, we feel and their dates and other known facts about them fit this slot.

Information from Ussery bulletin (John Usry) - "Peter Ussery was born in North Carolina, probably in Montgomery County. He moved with his parents to Maury County, Tennessee, before 1920. He was united in marriage about 1825 with Miss Dianna Adkisson (could be Atkins or Atkiss), who was born May 24, 1806 (according to the information by Mildred Chapman) and died 20, May 1886. Peter Ussery and his family are in the 1830 U.S. cencus for Maury Co., Tennessee. They are next found in the 1840 U.S. census for Greene County, Missouri. Later the family lived in Dallas County, Missouri, and in Wright Co., MO. Some time after his wife died in 1886, Mr. Ussery is reported to have married Mrs Nancy Allen. Peter Ussery died in 1889. He was buried in the family cemetery on a farm in Wright County, Missouri."
