Notes for Thomas Henry Ussery

While in his teens, Thomas Henry Ussery went to Missouri with his parents about 1839. He later married Miss Mary Ann Sebers, and homesteaded land in Dallas County, MO. He worked as a blacksmith as well as farming.

notes of John Usry, Rolla, MO - "Thomas died about 1865. There is evidence that he was named for his grandfather Ussery (Peter's father). They had 6 children.

Information from Ussery bulletin - " Thomas Henry Ussery was born 18 October 1826, in Tennessee. He went to Missouri about 1839 with his parents, Peter and Dianna Ussery. He was united in marriage, 7 March 1849, in Greene County, Missouri, with Mary Ann Sebers. He homesteaded land in Dallas County, Missouri in 1859

Thomas with his wife Mary A, and children Henry M. and Mary D.( aged 10 and 8), living in Benton Township of Dallas Co., Missouri. His occupation is given as blacksmith. Mr. Ussery died Aug. 5, 1860, according to MIldred Champman, a descendant who provided the names and dates for Thomas and his family. His widow remarried.us.
